Anies-Muhaimin Gain Lead Over Ganjar-Mahfud in Recent Kompas Poll, Elicits Praise from Sahrin Hamid

Kompas Survey Reveals Shift in Electoral Trends: Anies-Muhaimin Rise in Popularity, Surpassing Ganjar-Mahfud, as Noted by Sahrin Hamid’s Optimistic Outlook

Jabartoday.com-Jakarta. In a recent survey conducted by Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas), the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) ticket has surpassed Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. Meanwhile, the duo of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming still leads at the top.

This rise in the AMIN pair’s electability has been positively received by Anies Baswedan’s volunteers. “Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that, although gradually, the public’s awareness to choose leaders with clear track records, achievements, and clear visions and missions is becoming the people’s choice. And this is only found in Anies Muhaimin,” said National Coordinator of the People’s Movement, Sahrin Hamid, who is also the spokesperson for the AMIN National Team in Jakarta (11/12/2023).

Sahrin noted that Anies Muhaimin has an advantage among educated and urban populations. Based on this, the Anies Muhaimin Team aims to expand the AMIN voter base to rural areas and the urban poor sector.

“This certainly becomes a task for us, the Anies Team, and the strength of the People’s Movement across Indonesia to further penetrate territories and grassroots layers,” he added.

Sahrin believes that the undecided voters, who make up 28.7% of the electorate, are potential AMIN supporters. These voters do not want dynastic politics, legal undermining, continuation of regimes with high food prices, and difficult job markets. He stressed that the remaining time until the elections, presidential and vice-presidential debates, knowledge about candidates’ track records, and their vision will be pivotal in resolving voter indecision.

Equally important, according to Sahrin, is the consolidation of public awareness and movement. “We believe that over time, uncertainty will transform into confidence born from the reflection of the community’s hardships, igniting a spirit to build the strength of the people manifested in the form of banners, establishing voting booths, and community kitchens as tools in the people’s movement to win on February 14, 2024, through the election of Anies Muhaimin as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,” he concluded.

As noted, the December 2023 Kompas Litbang survey shows that the presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, rank first.

According to the survey conducted from November 29 to December 4, 2023, the electability of Prabowo-Gibran stands at 39.3 percent. In second place is the number 1 pair, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, with 16.7 percent. The electoral rate for the number 3 pair, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD, is at 15.3 percent.

This marks the first time in the surveys that the position of Ganjar-Mahfud has been overtaken by Anies-Muhaimin. In previous surveys, Ganjar consistently ranked second. The Kompas Litbang survey also recorded a significant decline in Ganjar’s electability. (rls/ruz)
