JABARTODAY, BANDUNG – – Masses from the West Java Islamic Mass Organization Council (MOI), the Alliance to Defend and Boycott Israel (ABABIL), the West Java Forum for Palestine Care (FJPP) and hundreds of communities, da’wah elements and various other groups plan to hold a solidarity action to defend Palestine with a target of 15,000 participants on Sunday (23/2/2025). The action that will start from the West Java Islamic Propagation Center (Pusdai) is a combination of dozens of community organization elements in West Java.
“The hope is that 15,000 (masses) will attend,” said the Field Coordinator (Korlap) of the Palestine Defense Action, Roinul Balad, when giving a statement to reporters, Tuesday night (2/18/2025)
Roinul emphasized that this action is open to all elements of society regardless of religious background. According to him, the Palestinian issue is not just a religious issue, but has become a humanitarian problem that requires support from various parties.
In the action, the masses will voice several main demands related to support for Palestinian independence. One important point is to encourage the Indonesian government to increase its role in efforts to support Palestinian independence.
“Indonesia clearly has a free-active political principle, so (the government) must play an active role in order to provide Palestinian independence according to the mandate of the 1945 Constitution,” explained Roinul.
Ahead of the month of Ramadan, this field coordinator also appealed to the Indonesian people to continue the boycott movement against products affiliated with the Zionists. This appeal is mainly aimed at the habit of people who often hold breaking fast together at food outlets affiliated with the Zionists.
The participants of the action are allowed to bring their respective organizational attributes, but with special notes regarding the use of flags. The committee emphasized that during the action, only the Red and White flag and the Palestinian flag are allowed to fly.
This solidarity action shows the consistency of the Indonesian people, especially West Java, in supporting the struggle for Palestinian independence. The action plan with a target mass of 15,000 people also shows the great concern of the community towards humanitarian issues in Palestine.
Through this action, the West Java MOI hopes to be able to provide diplomatic pressure on the Indonesian government to take more concrete steps in supporting Palestinian independence. In addition, this movement also aims to increase public awareness of the importance of solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people, including through boycotting products that support the Israeli occupation.
By carrying a humanitarian spirit that transcends religious boundaries, this action is expected to be a momentum to strengthen the support of the Indonesian people for the struggle for Palestinian independence.
