Universitas Kuningan (UNIKU) hosted an Open Senate Meeting on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Iman Hidayat Student Center (SC) on Campus I to officially appoint two professors and deliver scientific orations. During this event, two faculty members, Prof. Dr. H. Didik Harjadi, S.E., M.Si. in the field of management, and Prof. Dr. Suwari Akhmaddhian, S.H., M.H. in the field of law, were formally awarded the title of Professor.
The session was officially commenced by the Senate Chairperson, Dr. Anna Fitri Hindriana, M.Si., who then read the Decree from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdikbudristek RI), confirming the promotion to the rank of Professor, delivered by Dr. H. Haris Budiman, S.H., M.H., the Vice-Rector IV. The inauguration included the ceremonial presentation of the Professor’s insignia and plaques to Prof. Dr. H. Didik Harjadi, S.E., M.Si, and Prof. Dr. Suwari Akhmaddhian, S.H., M.H., by the Senate Chairperson.
“This day marks a historic milestone for Universitas Kuningan as we celebrate the inauguration of our first Professors who are truly from our own institution,” said Dr. M. Samsuri, S.Pd., M.T., IPU, Head of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java, in his address. He expressed his hopes that the newly inaugurated Professors would lead the charge in enhancing the performance and quality of Universitas Kuningan. He also highlighted the potential for UNIKU to propose doctoral programs (S3) in economics and law with the addition of these new Professors.
Following the ceremony, each Professor delivered a scientific oration. Prof. Dr. Suwari Akhmaddhian presented a speech on “The Politics of Local Government Law in Addressing Hydrometeorological Disasters Through Conservation-Based Water Resource Licensing,” while Prof. Dr. H. Didik Harjadi discussed “Marketing Transformation in the Digital Era: Strategies for MSME Development.”
The Chairperson of the Sang Adipati Kuningan Educational Foundation (YPSAK), Drs. H. Uri Syam, S.H., M.H., congratulated the newly appointed Professors and expressed his hope that their achievements would inspire other academics to reach similar heights, noting that the university has many Associate Professors who have the potential to become full Professors.
In his remarks, the Acting Secretary of the Kuningan Regency, Dr. H. Asep Taufik Rohman, M.Si., M.Pd., speaking on behalf of the Acting Regent of Kuningan, Dr. Drs. H. Raden Iip Hidajat, M.Pd., also extended his congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed Professors. He emphasized that this event marks a significant achievement for the university and contributes valuable expertise to society, adding two distinguished experts to UNIKU’s academic community in 2024. He also encouraged the Professors to continue advancing their research and producing outstanding academic contributions. (ruz)
