JABARTODAY.COM – KUNINGAN. Wednesday (10/12/2014) Institute for Research and Communities Service (LPPM) University of Kuningan (UNIKU) in collaboration with the National Park Mount Ciremai (BTNGC), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA ), Yamaha Music Indonesia (YMI) actualized Planting Ceremony 2014 as the implementation of the project restoration efforts of capacity building in a conservation area. This program is also as a joint effort to restore forest areas in the National Park of Mount Ciremai.
It took place in the village Lambosir Block Region District of Cilimus Setianegara attended by participants from JICA, YMI, University of Kuningan, Kuningan Regent, BTNGC, Elements officials, elementary school students and surrounding communities. The plants planted are: Salam (3,650 bars), Kiputih (1,500 bars), Caruy (1,000 bars), Kepundung (200 bars), Solatri (1,000 bars), Peutag (1,000 bars), Duwet (300 bars), Mara (200 rods), Ambit (1,000 bars), Huru Madam (100 bars), Kiteja (1,000 bars), Laban (1,500 bars), Ki Hideung/Ki Kopi (500 bars), Ki Beusi (500 bars), and Huru Minyak (300 stem). Those are the result of biophysical survey.
As said by Rector UNIKU, Iskandar, this planting ceremony is one of the activities in the framework of regional ecosystem restoration TNGC cooperation between UNIKU, PT. Yamaha Music, JICA and BTNGC to restore TNGC region including maintaining 50 Ha for five years (2010-2014).
This TNGC partnership aims to help TNGC restoration that became degraded or damaged areas, finding the proper restoration techniques for TNGC, increasing the capacity BTNGC, and local community/group work in implementing ecosystem restoration and manage foreign cooperation projects.
Kuningan Regent, Utje Ch. Suganda said that the wealth of biodiversity in the region of Mount Ciremai is one of the important natural capitals for the public welfare in Kuningan District.
Managing, keeping, maintaining and preserving the region TNGC is a duty to preserve the natural ecosystem used for public purposes. So, all parties are obliged to contribute appropriate roles, duties, responsibilities and respective capabilities in order to preserve TNGC region. (Rilla Nurfadillah/unicu.ac.id)
